Involving our local community in how services are shaped is important to us.  This area of our website is where we publish details of specific opportunities to provide views on proposed service change and development.  Links to this information are provided in the menu on the left had side of this page.

Here are a few recent examples of how we involve

~We conducted Insight Polling to gain the views of 1,000 residents about local health care services.

~
We have set up a joint Citizens Panel with East Riding of Yorkshire Council.  The panel is made up of 2,000 people that are representative of the East Riding.  Their views and perceptions of local NHS and Local Authority services are regularly sought.  For more information visit
www.eastridingofyorkshire.nhs.uk/citizenspanel

~
We have continued to work in partnership with the Local Involvement Network (LINk).   For more information visit
www.erylink.org.uk.

~
We regularly attend the NHS Overview and Scrutiny Committee to discuss local health issues and to consult them if substantial change is likely.  For more information about the Overview and Scrutiny Committee click here.

Here are a few examples of how your feedback has helped us to shape local services

~A new model of care is being introduced, including the introduction of Neighbourhood Care Teams, to deliver care closer to home.

~The design plans for a new Community Hospital in Beverley have been refined in response to views on a range of issues including pedestrian and cycle accessibility, local flooding and landscaping.  Click here for further details about our new community hospital for the East Riding.

~Low public satisfaction regarding dental services has led to nearly £3 million of investment to provide over 20,000 new patients with access to local NHS dental services.

~Patients identified a gap in service provision for support following pulmonary rehabilitation which resulted in the establishment of a local “Breathe Easy” group.

~People living with disabilities routinely ask for more information about local services.  Disability Fayres continue to take place (with local partners) to raise awareness of the support and services available to people living with a disability in the East Riding.
